Monthly Storytelling Series

Description:
The Niagara Queer Archive’s monthly storytelling series is a space to share, listen, and celebrate Queer life in Niagara. Community members are invited to tell personal stories, reflect on experiences, or simply attend and listen. Each gathering adds to the living history that shapes our archive.

Storytelling Prompts:
To help guide your contribution, consider sharing stories about:

  • Coming out experiences
  • Love, relationships, and friendship
  • Family, acceptance, and resilience
  • Personal or community challenges and triumphs
  • LGBTQ2S+ establishments, organizers, or organizations
  • Tales from past decades that shaped our local Queer history

What to Expect:

  • Welcoming, inclusive environment
  • Short personal stories or reflections from community members
  • Time for connection, conversation, and refreshments

How to Participate:

  • Sign up in advance to share a story, or just come and listen.
  • Stories can be told in any format: spoken word, storytelling, or reading from notes.
  • No public speaking experience required—honesty is valued over polish.
